Naltrexone Treatment
GT contacted FTA shortly after his wife died from an overdose. He was distraught and desperate to detoxify from his long-term heroin addiction. He was limited in time and funds but highly motivated to get clean. Prior to contacting FTA, GT had researched the internet for possible treatment facilities that could provide him with a rapid detox and Naltrexone implant, but due to his limited funding, could not.
FTA referred GT, within 24 hours of initial contact, to a treatment facility in Egypt where he completed a successful rapid detox within 1 week. During his stay, GT negotiated directly with the facility and underwent a Naltrexone implant procedure. FTA do not endorse the use of Naltrexone implants, but are happy to refer clients to a facility that can perform the procedure, which must be negotiated by the client directly.
Since returning from the clinic, GT has set up regular counselling sessions and attends local self-help support groups and remains in contact with us. He has submitted a testimonial to FTA, which can be read here.
